TopGuard Patrol V2.0

GCS is pleased to announce the worldwide release of Topguard Patrol Version 2.0 and Topguard Patrol Plus Version 2.0 software.

Topguard Patrol and Patrol Plus v2.0 has been updated to a refreshed Windows XP styling with new icons throughout the product. Support for Windows Vista has also been added. The Online Help system within Topguard Patrol has been completely rewritten with considerably more information to explain the new and existing features plus configuration of the Proxipen and the software.

The biggest functionality changes have been within Topguard Patrol Plus which adds new simple to use but sophisticated scheduling features intended for larger guarding companies and assignments where numerous patrols are scheduled in advance on a daily basis or through a calendar.

Topguard Patrol and Topguard Patrol Plus will be supplied against the existing published part numbers. Previous software versions have been withdrawn with immediate effect.

New version ProxiPen reader

The compact GCS ProxiPen has proved to be a very popular tour recording device for guarding companies around the world since it was introduced in 2001. Advances in electronics manufacturing have now allowed us to reduce the size of the ProxiPen even further. There is now a much smaller battery cap which makes the overall unit shorter and stronger.

Data Transfer Unit for ProxiPen

An updated ProxiPen Data Transfer Unit has been released. This unit is designed to take advantage of all USB2 hubs and computer ports.

ProxiPen Software Developers Kit

GCS Topguard Patrol and Patrol Plus software is designed to meet all standard guard tour requirements. Occasionally GCS customers have special requirements or want to use data downloaded from ProxiPen data collection units for completely different purposes. In order to make this a straightforward process GCS have produced a Software Developers Kit. The SDK can be used by a software developer to take data from the ProxiPen download file into their own applications. Any Microsoft development tool such as Visual Basic, C++ or C# can be used to create the link. The SDK is now available from stock. The part number is PROXI-PEN-SDK.

Escorte downloading via a USB Hub

A service pack is available to enable download from an Escorte data collection unit via a USB hub. This is compatible with Topguard Patrol & Patrol Plus software only - users with earlier versions of software (Windau, Topguard Primo, Topguard Plus) will need to upgrade to take advantage of this new feature. Access Control integration with GCS Software

GCS has announced that the market leading Symmetry Access Control systems has been integrated with the GCS Software. With the new integration in place it will be possible for the access control systems to manage incidents from the GCS data collection units within their alarm management systems and to report on all GCS activity.
