ProxiPen Kit

The new GCS ProxiPen kit is the total solution for your guard tour verification requirements and other data collection tasks. It includes everything you need to quickly and easily set up a complete guard tour system featuring the innovative ProxiPen RFID tag reader and the user-friendly TopGuard Patrol control software.

The ProxiPen is compact, lightweight and easy to use. The ProxiPen will automatically detect and read a tag whenever it comes within reading range. The electronic components are sealed in a tough, waterproof polycarbonate housing that is resistant to heat, shock and hydrocarbons. The ProxiPen requires only one "AA" commercial alkaline, lithium or rechargeable battery that can be replaced without using any special tools.

The RFID Tag is resistant to dirt, weather, grease, moisture etc. They can also be placed behind surfaces, eg wallpaper, glass, plaster, etc - a real plus in applications whether either asthetics or vandalism is a consideration.

The GCS TopGuard® Patrol control software makes it easy to set up tours, download and evaluate the data and prepare reports. It also features fully user-editable text fields so that the software can be customised to accommodate any data collection application, including maintenance, service, cleaning, attendance and asset tracking.

The kit comprises:

• 1 ProxiPen data collection unit
• 1 Data Transfer Unit for ProxiPen (for use with serial or USB port)
• 1 Data cable for the Data Transfer Unit (serial)
• 1 Data cable for the Data Transfer Unit (USB)
• Universal power supply for the Data Transfer Unit (for use in serial mode)
• 1 TopGuard Patrol control software
• 1 ProxiPen Incident booklet with 12 tags
• 25 "Unique" RFID proximity tags, 30 mm diameter
• 5 "Nova" RFID tags, 50 mm
• 1 ISO ID card with magnetic stripe
• 1 Key Fob ID tag
• 1 Wrist Band ID tag

Further accessories are also available, eg:

• Protective holster for the ProxiPen data collection unit
• Adhesive tape, to improve the fixing of 30 mm tags to certain surfaces (eg wood, glass)
• Spacers with double-sided adhesive tape, for use when fixing 30 mm tags to metal surfaces
• TopGuard Patrol Plus Management Software

System Requirements

The optional TopGuard Patrol Plus version also requires that the PC has a USB port, as it includes a copy protection device that must be attached to that port in order for the software to operate.
